This Monday evening practice is both active and restorative as we seek to unwind the stress held in our system and re-energize for the week ahead. This open-level Vinyasa class emphasizes the flow of breath as it is linked to movement. You will move through both energizing sun salutations and static poses designed to build core strength and functional flexibility. The emphasis on fluid movement helps warm and tone the body and activate energetic systems--exactly what's needed to jump start your week!! The class concludes with a comforting and relaxing Savasana to settle into stillness. Let Monday be your motivation.

Teacher Atsu (Open level) Ashtanga/Vinyasa Yoga ClassAtsu Gadri is bringing his practice to your weeknights, for the month of August. Class Level: All levels welcome. This class is often referred to as the original "Power Yoga." Come prepared to build strength, stamina and practice the foundational flow of yoga. Ashtanga Yoga is - Simplicity of Movement, Stillness of Mind, Strength and Silence of the Soul. The Ashtanga approach is composed of energetic series of poses linked to the breath, vinyasa (movement sequenced with breath and rhythm), Drishti (a visual focal point), bandhas (internal energy locks/valve restraints) and meditation to ground the body in muscular strength/flexibility, mental focus and eventual realization of our beautiful selves. Ashtanga uses sun salutations to build heat and detoxify the body and then moves through a series of poses designed to heat, clean, open and purify the body and mind. In the class the teacher will modify the sequence to help beginners. The course follows the main line of the Primary Series (1st Series). The 1st Series realigns the spine, de-conditions negative body/mind patterns and allows the body to cleanse. In these classes the teacher takes more time to dive deeper into the fundamentals of certain postures. The style of practice was created by Sri K Pattabhi Jois, a student of Krishnamacharya.

This class is an open level Power/Vinyasa Yoga class. Vinyasa means "breath-synchronized movement," and Vinyasa yoga is a series of poses that will move you through the power of inhaling and exhaling. The power element balances strength based poses that emphasize core work.

A popular drum and dance class with over 28 registrants from last summer! Fill your kid’s summer from July-August, each Sunday. 40 minutes of live drum lessons and 20 minutes of dance. Juice/Snack break included. About Alfonse, Our Drummer Alfonse plays with the Ghana National Dance Company, at the National Theater of Ghana. He is the chief drummer and had played with them for 13 years. He started drumming at the age of 10. He has traveled the world on various tours. Most recently, he was part of the music GIS program, as a teacher of drum and dance. PROGRAM SCHEDULE.
